Game Recap: Preseason Finale.
The New York Knicks closed out their preseason slate with a hard-fought 122-120 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden. In a game that stayed tight from start to finish, New York leaned on balanced scoring and strong contributions from both the starters and the bench to hold off a Raptors team that refused to go away. Jalen Brunson led the way with 20 points and seven assists, while Karl-Anthony Towns came within one assist of a triple-double (13 points, 15 rebounds, nine assists). Mikal Bridges added 14 points and two blocks, and Andre Drummond provided a major spark off the bench with 14 points and eight rebounds in just 15 minutes.
Toronto matched the Knicks’ energy for long stretches. Scottie Barnes was the Raptors’ standout with 23 points on efficient shooting, including 4-of-5 from three, along with four assists and four blocks. RJ Barrett chipped in 21 points and eight rebounds, and Immanuel Quickley finished with 18 points and seven assists. Kawhi Leonard saw limited minutes and managed only six points, but the Raptors still pushed the game into the final possessions and made New York earn the win.
Ultimately, the Knicks’ ability to get production from multiple sources and protect home court proved decisive in a two-point thriller. The result gives New York a positive note heading into the regular season, while serving as a reminder that the Raptors can create problems when their key pieces are rolling. It was a competitive final preseason tune-up for both sides at the Garden.
